Having a home garden benefits you in many ways, and there are some plants which are a must-have in your garden.

Coriander

Tomatoes:

Tomatoes are a staple food in many homes. The fruit can be eaten raw, or you can add it to your dishes while cooking or you can even make it into a sauce. You can get the saplings from the shop and plant them in your garden or if you plan to plant your tomatoes from seeds then try to start indoors in April. Later you can transplant the plant later that month.  Make sure that the seedlings get plenty of sunlight and water.

Aloe Vera Plant:

Aloe Vera is one of the best medicinal plants that help your skin and hair to shine. Aloe Vera is also great for purifying the air. It is extremely easy to maintain, and you can keep them indoors. The plant is known to remove the pollutants formaldehyde and benzene. Aloe plants must be kept dry and warm and not wet and cold so make sure that you water only when the soil is dry.

Coriander:

Coriander, otherwise known as Cilantro is very rich in vitamin C. It also contains other vitamins and minerals. The herb also helps in digestion and relieving inflammation which may cause gastric trouble. The seeds of Coriander have had a positive impact on reducing stress in the liver and pancreas thereby promoting the better production of insulin. It also helps in lowering blood sugar level.

Lemon Balm:

It is a member of the mint family of herbs. It is extremely easy to grow, and the plant has several health benefits, and it has an excellent citrus aroma.  The herb eases the muscles and nerve tension.  The Lemon Balm is used to prevent infection and reduce inflammation.  The plant has anti-viral properties, and they can be applied to get healed from cold sores.  Lemon balm is also an excellent medicine for indigestion. It relieves gas, cramping, and stomach upset.

Basil:

If you are a beginner in gardening, you need to have basil in your garden. You can also keep them indoors. The plant needs humidity and heat so try to plant them during the summer time. Basil makes an excellent garnish for pasta and salad. You can dry the basil leaves and even store them for later. Make sure that the soil in which you place the plant is moist but well-drained, set it in a dry area. Keep the plant in sunlight for at least 6 hours a day, and make sure that all sides of the plant are getting equal exposure to sunlight.
